| Ok, so it's been like a really long time since I've updated! So I think I'll tell ya a little about what's been going on in my life.
You know it's just amazing how God works and builds patience in us at the same time. As most of you know, I am in a program called Civil Air Patrol. Well it works a lot like the military. Just recently I got promoted to staff sergeant. So know I am referred to as Sergeant Polk every meeting. Well anyway to get to the point, I was getting kind of frustrated with the program because I didn't have a position, etc. btw this is really hard to explain for people not in CAP, but I'm doing my best. I had pretty much told myself that if I didn't have a position by the time that school started, that I would probably quit the program. Well last meeting, the very meeting before school starts, I got promoted to Flight Sergeant!! So I am just really happy and thankful to God for this.
Anyway, I start school on Monday August 13th, so please pray for me for that I will do better then I did last year. You see, I am one of those people who puts things off as long as I can and still get away with it. So please pray that I will do better at that this year.
Umm..you could also be praying every Saturday from about 10 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon as our church has a mobile chapel that we take to three different places. We invite kids in to our chapel on wheels and do an object lesson and sing and do a puppet play, etc. The kids really like it!
My dog and my parents dog are probably going to be having puppies in a couple of months so if you know any one that wants any our number's 530-344-1411
Let's see.....I can get my driver's license in about 2 months!!!
Yeah so besides doing some yard working jobs and going to church that's pretty much been life!
I'll try to update more often
Goodnight and God Bless

| This is not the post I was planning on, but as I started to read Matthew Ch. 27 this morning I was reading the fourth verse when that verse practically jumped out at me. Here is verses 3 and 4:
3 Then
Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned,
repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the
chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
The phrase that really stuck out to me is the phrase "betrayed innocent blood." Now a lot of times we read this verse we probably think "Man, what was wrong with Judas? How could he do such a sinful thing as betraying the precious Lord? How could he do this? I would never betray Jesus." Right?? Isn't that kind of what we think sometimes when we read this verse? But after I read this verse, some thoughts began coming into my mind. What does this word "betray" mean? To me, it means leaving one person/thing for another person/thing. Judas left Jesus for money. He would have rather had money than Jesus. Then I got to thinking how, betraying doesn't have to be something as dramatic as that. Do not we betray Jesus everytime we sin? When we sin, we are no longer on Jesus' side. In fact, he cannot even hear out prayers until we have confessed that sin. So I got to thinking how much more serious sin is than I had ever imagined. Every time we sin, we betray that innocent blood of our precious Lord and Saviour who had never nor will ever betray us. Not only do we betray Jesus when we sin, but it says that Judas betrayed His blood. How serious is that?
Have I betrayed the innocent blood today? Have you betrayed the innocent blood today?

| Well, it has been an extremely long time since I have updated...over a month. So, I thought I would just write a tell about all that has been going on. First of all, I was sick for about 5 days (nothing serious, just a bad cold) and then I got poison oak and actually still have some, so I am really behind in school. I missed about 6 school days. But, I am working on getting caught up and actually that is probably what I should be doing right now, but I thought I would take a few minutes to update! LOL. Anyway, please pray that I could have opportunities at school. It is a different situation than actually witnessing to people because most of my friends I believe are Christians and go to church. But, the music they listen to is wrong and some of the things some of them say are not godly, so please pray the God would give me the boldness and the words to say to them. And if anybody has any suggestions on exactly how to approach it and what to say, I would greatly appreciate it. Besides school, though, I have had and will be having several upcoming events with Civil Air Patrol. This past Sunday we had our first of many color guard meetings. Our squadron is putting together a color guard both for competitions and for events. There are nine people that are in the color guard, but usually there is only four to a color guard, so this means that we have plenty of backups! At this point Jared, my younger brother, another guy from our squadron, and myself are all in the same color guard. (What we did on Sunday was actually practiced as two different color guards.) Also with Civil Air Patrol it is going to be fun because I am going to try within the next three months or so to promote to a SERGEANT!!!!!!!!! So then you all can start referring to me as sergeant Polk. HAHA. Just kidding ....but everyone in Civil Air Patrol will have to. Anyway........... On Sunday night, we had the youth group meeting at our house. It was really good. I learned that it is good to actually practice witnessing because we had a witnessing exercise. What we did was we had the pastor, the associate pastor, and my dad pretend like they were people that we might talk to while witnessing. For instance, the pastor had me walk towards him and then he started the conversation. He told me I looked like I had been to church because I had a tie on and then asked me what church I went to and was it a cult, etc. So, I started telling him about how it is a Christian church and things like that and then he said that he was Catholic and called himself a Christian. Well, I was kind of surprised at myself because I didn't know how to respond. I mean I am sure if I actually would have had time to think about it I could have found an answer, but because it was on the spot and the whole youth group was watching, I couldn't think of one. But, I am really glad we did this exercise because there will be times when we don't have a chance to think about what we are going to say. So, I am going to start practicing witnessing, so that I will be ready when situations like that come up. 1 Peter 3:15But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: I am playing in a wedding this weekend. It is the wedding of the pastor's daughter and someone else named Joseph (Joey) whom I have known for a while. I am playing on the piano while our associate pastor (Mr. Phil) and Mark play on their trumpets. It will be an intereting wedding because the groom is the pastor of a Spanish-speaking church and there are several from that church that are going to be at the wedding. So the sermon will be in Spanish and English. Well I better be going now.
God Bless
